World Financial Planning Day 2025 to Help People Take Charge of Their Finances

As families across the world continue to struggle with inflation and rising debt, the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB) and its global partners have announced the ninth annual World Financial Planning Day (WFPD). The event will take place on 8 October 2025.

World Financial Planning Day aims to show how important financial planning is for everyone. It will run alongside the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ (IOSCO) World Investor Week from 6 to 12 October 2025. More than 230,000 Certified Financial Planner (CFP) professionals worldwide will take part in activities to help people understand the benefits of working with a qualified financial planner.

“World Financial Planning Day highlights the power of good financial planning and of working with a professional who puts clients first. Studies show people who work with a financial planner feel more confident, satisfied, and secure about their money. This day is the perfect chance for more people to see why,” said FPSB CEO Dante De Gori.

Last year, World Financial Planning Day reached over 580 million people through media stories, education events, and social media, with 20 countries taking part. This year, the campaign hopes to grow even more. Many educational programs and activities will be held worldwide and listed on the WFPD website in September.

IOSCO leaders also spoke in support. Rodrigo Buenaventura, IOSCO Secretary General, said, “Financial education helps people make better choices for their life goals. We are happy to support World Financial Planning Day to help people build skills and protect their future.”

Camille Beaudoin, Chair of IOSCO’s Committee on Retail Investors, added, “Our partnership with FPSB through World Financial Planning Day is helping people everywhere gain the knowledge to stay financially strong and invest with confidence.”

World Financial Planning Day 2025 promises to offer many chances for people to learn how to secure their financial well-being now and for the future.
